Above: A Dio Tipo 61, as captured on his Hasselblad by Neil "one giant leap for mankind" Armstrong on the Sea of Tranquility. Check out the seductive Italian body, the svelte curves, the poised-for-action persona. Yo! This is one outa-this-world drivin' machine.

The Dio Tipo 61 (Italian for "Dio Type 61") sports car/driving machine is the most adaptable and conformable component car on the market! You can build your Tipo 61 on your choice of several existing early sports car chassis, or you can build it on CARS' custom-engineered tubular chassis, described elsewhere on our website.

Above: A Dio Tipo in action on the track at Birdcage of Alcatraz Raceway, piloted by 1959 LeMans co-winner Carroll Shelby. Not really. But this could be you at your favorite raceway or track event. This photo (above) is hot-linked to a photo of the chassis and the cockpit.
