Sunday
afternoon--Awards & Trophies
25
April 1999 |
Above:
Roberto Costa (Las Vegas) being awarded Past Presidents'
Choice
trophy for his dazzling Maserati "birdcage" replica.
He was also awarded a Special Interest
trophy. If AHA ever awards a trophy for "Mr. Personality,"
Roberto will have no competition. Great guy, always cheerful.
That's the AHA's Dan Barbee (his back to the camera) awarding
Roberto his trophy.
This
is only a small sampling of the awards & trophies presented.
A complete roster of trophy recipients for this year's AHA/KBF
show will be provided for you at the bottom of this page, when
we receive the show specs from the AHA.

The
Complete Guide to Cobra Replicas'
"Good
Guy--1999" Award
for
outstanding commitment to raising the benchmark of excellence
in the Cobra and Cobra replica industry |

went
to Lynn Park. Lynn's connection with Shelby-American dates back
to 1962, when he was a student at UCLA. He currently owns 8 original
Cobras (289s, 427s and even an original FIA), and has possessed
and driven a grand total of 20 since the 1960s, including a Daytona
Coupe. His COCOA (Cobra Owners Club Of America) reserves the
track at Willow Springs (California) twice a year so that all
those Cobra, Cobra replica, Shelby Mustang and GT40 owners can
scare themselves. Lynn participates in just about everything,
everywhere that has anything to do with Shelby driving machines,
and has long been involved with SAAC and its L.A. and NorCal
chapters; his generosity in supporting those SAAC chapters qualifies
as nothing short of legendary. Since 1980 Lynn has manufactured
the universally respected Trigo
wheels for Cobras, and wheel/wheel adapter bolt-on packages for
Cobra replicas. That "Smokey the Bear/county mountie"
campaign hat is Lynn's trademark. Here's a heartfelt tip of our
own hat to you, Lynn!

cut-glass objet d'art.
